About TopFive

AI changes every day, and most of what is published about it changes nothing for you. TopFive is the filter: every morning, the five AI stories that matter, ranked by consequence, each explained in the time it takes to read it.

What you get

  • The five. One edition a day, five stories, ranked. Each says what happened and why it matters, with a full article and its sources one click away.
  • The wire. Everything that didn't make the five, posted as it happens through the day on the wire.
  • The glossary. Every term the stories use, defined in plain English in the glossary and linked wherever it appears.
  • The newsletter. The edition in your inbox at 7am Eastern. Subscribe.

How we rank

Rank one is the story with the biggest consequence for people who build with or use AI, not the one with the most attention. We prefer primary sources, cite every one, and keep the five varied: no more than two stories about one company, and at least three topics a day.

How it's made

TopFive is written by AI and published without a person reading each edition first. One agent picks and writes the five in a house voice modeled on Magai founder Dustin W. Stout's writing. A second agent checks every claim against its source before anything goes live, and publishes nothing it cannot verify. People at Magai own the rules, get alerted when anything fails, and handle corrections. The details are in our editorial policy.

Who owns TopFive

TopFive is owned and operated by Magai, which makes an AI workspace with the major models in one place. We carry no advertising. The prompt of the day and a few clearly marked links point to Magai, and that is how TopFive pays for itself. Details are on our ownership and disclosure page.
