Privacy policy

The short version: if you subscribe, we keep your email address to send you the newsletter. We do not sell it, rent it or share it for anyone else's marketing. TopFive is operated by Magai, LLC, which is the data controller for this site.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you subscribe, with the date and the page you signed up from. We keep whether you confirmed and whether you unsubscribed.
  • Analytics and measurement. We may use analytics and advertising measurement tools (for example Google Analytics or Fathom) to understand how TopFive is read. Some set cookies. You can opt out with the cookie banner or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and the site works the same either way.
  • Email delivery data. Our email provider records whether a message was delivered or bounced so we can keep the list healthy.
  • What you send us. If you email us, we keep the conversation.

What we do with it

We use your address to send the TopFive newsletter and, rarely, a message about the newsletter itself. Because TopFive is owned by Magai, the newsletter contains clearly labeled mentions of Magai (see disclosure). We do not add you to Magai's own marketing lists.

Who processes it

  • Supabase stores the subscriber list.
  • Resend delivers our email.
  • Vercel hosts the site.
  • Analytics and measurement providers (such as Google or Fathom), only while they are switched on.

Your choices

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@topfive.ai and we will act within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you have rights of access, correction, deletion and objection, and the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Cookies

When analytics or measurement tools are switched on, they may set cookies, and a banner lets you opt out; your choice is kept in a cookie called tf_consent for a year. With no such tools on, the public site sets no tracking cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

Retention

We keep an unsubscribed address only as long as needed to honor the unsubscribe, and delete it on request.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the newsletter. The date above is the last change.
