a16z's seventh Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps report says 4.5% of US consumers had an active paid personal subscription to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude as of August. The median payer spends $25 a month. The top 1% average $903 a month and make up 19.5% of observed spend. The data is a US card and e-receipt panel from YipitData, not a census.
