Anthropic says new defenses cut distillation harvesting 90 to 99%

Anthropic says early evidence shows its new defenses cut the data distillers harvest by around 90 to 99 percent. Measures include preserved thinking for new API accounts, a two-stage classifier with a false positive rate below 0.1%, and stricter limits and bans. Anthropic says tens of thousands of distillation-linked accounts were banned.
