arXiv limits submitters to two new papers a month, citing a flood of AI-written papers
arXiv's policy, effective Oct. 1, allows two new submissions per person per calendar month on top of its three-active-submission cap. arXiv says September brought 40,363 submissions, up from 20,569 in September 2024, and nearly 9,000 support tickets. It calls the limit a stopgap while it sets rules for AI-assisted authorship. Rejected papers count; co-authors are not affected.
