Developer measures Claude Code background summaries at 16% of spend
A third-party analysis by Flamerix AI, from its own OpenTelemetry data, says Claude Code's agent_summary feature took 16.4% of estimated spend and 19.7% of API requests, sending full transcripts roughly every 30 seconds for a 3-5 word summary. It is a single-user, Linux-only result, not an Anthropic statement.
