Drax, Brookfield and Radiant plan 1GW+ AI data center at Drax Power Station in northern England

Drax announced Nov. 3 a partnership with Brookfield and Radiant to build an AI data center of over 1GW at its power station. Phase 1 is up to 100MW with an initial £2.5 billion, targeted from early 2028; Brookfield says total investment including chips could exceed £20 billion. Phase 1 needs planning approval and a tenant.
