Ex-OpenAI science lead Kevin Weil launches Warp Sciences with $215M to automate wet labs

TechCrunch reports Kevin Weil, formerly OpenAI's science lead, launched Warp Sciences with $215 million led by Lightspeed, with IVP, Premji Invest and Lux Capital. Weil puts the valuation at $865 million. The company builds robots for drug-discovery lab work, trained by human chemists wearing cameras and sensor gloves, and aims to bring synthesis back from overseas contractors.
