Fed minutes cite the AI buildout, not tariffs, as a driver of rising goods prices
Minutes of the Sept. 15-16 FOMC meeting say staff tied higher inflation partly to "an increase in technology-related consumer goods prices associated with the AI buildout." Several participants said core goods price increases stayed elevated as AI buildout effects appeared to increase while tariff effects waned.
