Google's Project Suncatcher satellite returns its first AI response from orbit
Google said Oct. 30 its Project Suncatcher prototype, launched Oct. 1 with a data center class TPU, ran Gemma 4 in orbit. A haiku prompt was uplinked and the answer downlinked over Svalbard. Radiation and thermal tests come next, with twin interconnected satellites targeted for 2027. Google gave no performance figures.
