Hugging Face and universities launch Project ProtoStar for AI-ready public science data
Hugging Face announced Project ProtoStar on Oct. 29 with Carnegie Mellon, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, George Washington University and the Astera Institute. It pushes publicly funded datasets, models and code to be released in AI-ready formats. The first challenge, on climate risk forecasting for 210 US cities, runs Nov. 2 to 13, hosted by CMU.
