Japan and South Korea harden defenses after a wave of cyberattacks that experts tie to AI
Japan convened ministries Oct. 8 and plans warnings to businesses after attacks hit firms including Daiwa Securities, SoftBank and Lawson. South Korea ordered financial firms to complete a 12-point self-assessment after attacks on nine banks. Per Reuters, authorities are still determining how AI was used. CrowdStrike says one attacker used a Chinese AI agent and Claude Code.
