MIT CSAIL authors say an LLM can read and edit neural network weights directly

A blog post by MIT CSAIL researchers, not peer reviewed, says a general-purpose LLM read and wrote network weights through reasoning alone. They report it edited 0.016% of Qwen3.5-0.8B's weights, lifting MATH-500 from 7.9% to 48.1% with 50 forward passes, but saw no gain on Gemma 3 270M. Results are the authors' own.
