Nadella: assume AI models are compromised, add an "emergency brake"

Per TechCrunch, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella posted on X that it is time "to step back and assess the trust architecture" of AI. He proposed separating a model from its harness, moving safeguards outside the model, keeping tamper-proof logs of model actions, and letting an authorized person pause a model mid-task. "We must assume a model is compromised and contain it from the start," he wrote. The X post itself was not opened for this entry.
