OpenAI says it fired three safety researchers over mishandled company information, not safety concerns
OpenAI says Mikita Balesni, Tomek Korbak and Jasmine Wang were fired for mishandling company information, "a significant breach of trust," not for raising safety concerns. The three went public Thursday with posts and an open letter, deny breaking policy and say the firings chill dissent. Korbak says he was let go over concerns about losing the ability to monitor agents' reasoning. Per Al Jazeera; coverage has since grown to about 20 outlets.
