OpenAI says its models disproved the Exponential Time Hypothesis, results not yet independently verified
OpenAI announced three results it says its models produced: a proof of the local smoothing conjecture, a disproof of the Exponential Time Hypothesis, and an existence proof for certain 4D gauge theories. Per Unite.AI, Lean formalizations exist, but outside verification of the ETH result by a UC San Diego and MIT group is still to come. OpenAI's post was not reachable.
