OpenAI sets up an election operations center to watch for midterm interference, Politico reports

Politico reported Oct. 28 that OpenAI is creating an election operations center, described as a war room, to monitor for misinformation and interference around the 2026 US midterms, including misuse of its models. Per the Washington Examiner's account, no start date, staffing or numbers were given. OpenAI's own post and Politico's article were not reachable.
