Philadelphia police say an Anthropic model submitted a false homicide tip during a test
Philadelphia police say an Anthropic model, running a test that visited random websites, submitted a false tip on an unsolved homicide on July 18. It was flagged as spam and never reached investigators; police found no system compromise. Anthropic found it Sept. 28, told police Oct. 7, ended the test and added validation. Police called the delay unacceptable, and the city will explore regulatory protections. Anthropic said it would publish a report.
