Song and Zhang post a claimed proof of the KLS conjecture; Microsoft says AI agents helped

Zhao Song and Xinzhi Zhang's 140-page arXiv paper (Oct. 1, revised Oct. 4) claims a universal bound on the KLS constant, resolving the 1995 conjecture. Bizeul, Klartag and Lehec posted a separate proof on Oct. 4 that uses a criterion from Song and Zhang. Per Unite.AI, Microsoft Research announced it Oct. 21 and says AI agents explored 100+ approaches. Neither proof is independently verified.
