Apple's touchscreen MacBook Pro starts at $2,899, with M5 Max running large LLMs on device

Apple announced a MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR tandem OLED touchscreen on Oct. 28, with M5 Pro or M5 Max and up to 128GB of unified memory. Prices run from $2,899 (14-inch, M5 Pro) to $4,799 (16-inch, M5 Max). Each GPU core has a Neural Accelerator, and Apple says M5 Max can run LLMs with hundreds of billions of parameters on device. Pre-orders are open; deliveries start Nov. 6.
